Governor Veto Letter

January 15, 2018 - As you may remember, last year, we were successful in advancing an important piece of legislation to restore fairness to the hearing process at the State Water Board (AB 313). Governor brown vetoed the bill, but in his  veto message acknowledged the need to address these conflicts of interest and committed to “[direct] the Secretary of the Environmental Protection Agency to evaluate the potential role for administrative law judges and provide a recommendation on improvements to the Board's hearing process by January 1, 2018.”

Well, January 1st has come and gone and CalEPA has not taken up the issue, nor made any recommendations. I am committed to holding the Governor and his executive agencies accountable, and have therefore submitted the attached letter in order to get some answers. Please read the letter and let me know your thoughts.
